Mission Statement

This blog (its writing style and content) is inspired by Sei Shonagon’s master piece in shallow pettiness known as The Pillow Book and, as such, does not take itself too seriously. It serves not only as a documentation of Yours Truly's time on the JET Program, but also as a resource for potential JETs. The blog is not just an exercise in ego masturbation however, it also seeks to familiarize the world with the shiny, cheap, fluorescent, and otherwise fantastic tackiness that is Japanese mass/pop culture—from fashion to music to more ‘sociological’ phenomenon.
